Peace, Order and Good Government.

Buried in the British North America Act of 1867 is the national motto of Canada: Peace, Order and Good Government. Seemingly mundane but so essential in the federalism battles occuring around the world. The world needs more Canada.

I used to work for the NSA via the Canadian Armed Forces back in the seventies when the Cold War was not so cool. However, now that the image of the Canadian Forces (note no Armed) is being revamped to CONvince our young to join so they can be involved with a more ARMED and dangerous version of our military.

I mean - what happened to our Peacekeeping priorities? Now we are sniping and spying on other countries with the intent to enforce democracy on other nations. Okay - I can accept that for Afghanistan since I personally believe females deserve the right to vote and go to school, not too keen on stoning to death anyone for pretty much anything, so sure we should stand beside our NATO brothers and sisters on that one.

However, our Canadian government's position is that we do not have soldiers in Iraq yet I know we do. Don't ask. We shouldn't be there is the point, let the US and British clean up their mess.

Yes, the world needs more Canada and not a mini-version of the USA.
